Stories That Travel: How Voices from Gaza Transform My Classroom

I’m very happy to share that my article, “Stories That Travel: How Voices from Gaza Transform My Classroom,” has been published in Melta News, Spring 26 issue

In this piece, I reflect on how stories told by children in Gaza through the Tell a Child in Gaza’s Tale initiative have found a powerful place in my drama-based English classroom in Greece.

Through storytelling, role-on-the-wall, hot seating, comic strips, puppetry, and imaginative drama activities, my students have not only practised English but also developed empathy, curiosity, and meaningful human connection. These stories have helped us explore language in a way that feels alive, emotional, and deeply real.

The article also highlights the importance of ensuring that the voices of children in Gaza continue to be heard, remembered, and shared through storytelling.

A heartfelt thank-you to the Melta News editorial team, and especially to Randy Perry and David Heathfield, for supporting and amplifying this work.
